Encourage Others!

You can participate in this Lenten Confession Campaign in many ways. During this Holy Season of Lent, use this opportunity to evangelize by encouraging others to receive the Sacrament!

Remember there are two different audiences to reach out to: those who are Parish members and those, who for whatever reason, have been estranged from the Church.

You can do this in many ways:

  1. Pray that many faithful open their hearts to receive the mercy of God through this Sacrament.

  2. Hand out the prayer cards with the Act of Contrition and steps for the Rite of Reconciliation to family, friends, and those you may encourage to receive this Sacrament during Lent.

  3. Hang Posters in your Community so that people in the neighborhood may learn about the Confession Campaign. You can ask for more posters at the Catholic Center, free of cost, by calling 416-1440 and contacting Gina Donnarummo, or by email: gdonnarummo@diobpt.org

Evangelization opportunity for teens and students in Confirmation programs!
Teens can help publicize the Lenten Confession Campaign by visiting local businesses (supermarkets, restaurants, stores, laundromats, etc.) and hanging posters publicizing the campaign. Be sure teens ask to speak with a manager and get permission before hanging posters. This could be a great opportunity of evangelization for teens to be a witness in their faith, especially in the spirit of the Year of St. Paul. It could even become a project for your Confirmation class.

  4. Participating and leading prayer on Tuesday nights. Whiles the penitents come to the Parish to receive the Sacrament, you can lead in prayer, or offer leadership opportunities in prayer on Tuesday Nights to Teens! You may encourage teens to lead a small prayer service in the Church, including the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, or praise and worship.

  5. Read and learn more about the importance of this Sacrament, so that you may become a good advocate.

  6. Share with others the different venues where the campaign is being publicized!
