Plenary Indulgences
during the Year of Saint Paul

June 28, 2008 through June 29, 2009

During this Year of Saint Paul, marking the 2000th anniversary of the birth of the Holy Apostle, Pope Benedict XVI has granted a plenary indulgence, the remission of temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, to the faithful who fulfill required conditions.

Bishop William E. Lori has designated Saint Paul Parish in Greenwich and seven Adoration Chapels in the Diocese of Bridgeport as locations to visit where the faithful can receive the plenary indulgence between now and the closing of the Year of Saint Paul on June 29, 2009.

The Adoration Chapels and their opening hours are:

All the baptized, in the state of grace, can gain indulgences for oneself and for the deceased by making a prayerful visit to Saint Paul Church or one of the Adoration Chapels.

In addition, they need to fulfill three conditions: Sacramental Confession, Eucharistic Communion, and offering prayers for the intentions of Pope Benedict. The three conditions can be fulfilled several days before or after the visit to the sacred places, but it is proper that Communion and prayers for the
Holy Father be done on the same day.
